Felicity Jar

A cavity within sucked in
two decades of her life.
The heavy burdens pressed down
those that withstood.
Paper-thin obsessions filled it up,
convincing its absence.
Crumbled down along with
her dreams and happiness.
A permanent seal to her felicity jar
is all she yearned for.
Its strength shall withstand
the burdens that come forth.
Reliving those treasured moments
with tear-filled eyes.
As she dipped her mind
into the brim filled container.
Her life’s hues glistened
in the eyes of her children.
A surreal masterpiece
passed on to generations.

A void we try to fill with obsessions of short term happiness and a hope to seal this void with treasured memories.
